What is an e-Visa?

Turkey's official travel document is an e-Visa. The e-Visa replaces visas issued at Turkish missions and ports of entry.

After entering required information and making credit or debit card payments, applicants receive their visas electronically.

After your application is successful, you can download your e-Visa. You'll also receive an email with the same e-Visa download link. Your e-Visa can be verified at ports of entry. In case of system failure, you should carry your e-Visa on a tablet PC, smart phone, or paper.

Like other visas, Turkish officials at ports of entry can deny e-Visa holders entry into Turkey without explanation.

Do you need a visa to go to Turkey?

Foreigners must obtain a visa at their Turkish consulate or online from the nation where they were born or are physically present to enter and stay in Turkey for up to 90 days under Article 13 of the Law of Foreigners and International Protection. Their visa must be valid for their intended visit.

My visa is valid for one year. Can I stay in Turkey for an entire year?

If you have a visa, you are only allowed to stay in Turkey for a maximum of up to 90 days within every 180-day period.

I want a residence permit, but my country has no Turkish Consulate. How to enter Turkey?

If visa exemption doesn't apply, If so, you can apply for a visa at a Turkish Foreign Representative Office in a third country or buy an e-visa online to enter Turkey. You can't get a Turkish residence permit outside Turkey.

I am banned to enter Turkey. What must I do to get into Turkey?

You must go to the Turkish Foreign Representatives in your country to ask for an annotated visa, which is a visa with specific rules.

If my visa is still valid and my residence permit has run out, can I still stay?

The holder of a residence permit is ineligible for a visa or visa exemption upon its expiration. They are required to leave the country within ten days of their residence permit expiring, or they will be banned and fined.

What is an annotated (special condition/ preliminary permission) visa?

In this case, a foreign representative applies for a visa, which is then sent to the General Directorate. Without permission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a visa cannot be given. It is called a short-term visa because of this.

Where can I find out the result of my annotated visa (special condition visa) application?

The Turkish Foreign Representative Office where you submitted your application can inform you of the outcome. If the code is negative, you must hire an attorney to remove it from your profile.

How long do I have to use the visa that I received from the consulate?

Visas issued by consulates must be utilized within six months of receipt.

How do I request or apply for an e-visa?

E-visas are accepted for both touristic and business trips to Turkey. You can submit an e-visa application online at www.evisa.gov.tr/en/apply.

My passport is expiring soon; can I enter Turkey?

Foreigners whose passports or other travel documents expire more than sixty days prior to the expiration of their visa, visa exemption, or residence permit will be denied entry into Turkey.

Is a residence permit possible with a conditional entry document?

You may be able to use a conditional entry document visa to apply for a residence permit, but it depends on what kind of permit you want.

The conditional entry visa is good for how many days?

The most time is 10 days. You must apply for a residence permit or you'll be overstaying and could be fined, banned, or sent home.

I overstayed my visa in Turkey by five days. Will I be banned?

The visa violation desk will decide your penalty and ban. Article 54 of the Law states that those whose visas have been canceled or who have overstayed their visa or visa exemption period by more than ten days will be removed. If they pay the fine, visa violators and short-stayers can leave. Article 54 of Law 6458 states that no removal decision will be made.

My visa expired in Turkey. Can I apply for an e-visa in-country?

You can't apply for an e-visa while you're in Turkey. If the person wants to stay in the country after their visa expires, they must fill out an application for a residence permit within ten days.

How long should my passport be for Turkey?

It would be best if you had a passport or other form of ID that was valid for at least 60 days after your planned stay.

Where can I find out my visa application result?

You can check on the status of your visa application by calling the Foreign Representative Office in your country or going online.

How long will the visa application take?

Foreigners can apply for Turkish visas at their local Turkish consulate or online. It takes 10–90 days to get a visa. After foreigners finish their paperwork, this time frame starts.

I broke the rules of my visa and got a fine. Can I go to Turkey?

Foreigners who have debts because they overstayed their visa or residence permit will be able to enter Turkey once they pay off their debts and sort out their violation codes.

What is the visa exemption fee?

Bilateral agreements allow visa-exempt foreign nationals to enter Turkey without a visa. The Ministry exempts residence permit and single entry visa fees for reciprocity-based countries. Foreign representatives pay the single-entry visa fee for foreigners entering Turkey with a special visa or stamp visa. For foreign nationals who enter our country under the visa exemption agreement, requesting a residence permit requires a single entry visa fee.
