In the event that premiums are not paid, the termination of the insurance policy will be governed by the provisions of the Turkish Commercial Code.

Should the insured wish to cancel the policy, written notification is required. The cancellation process for policies issued under the Law on Foreigners and International Protection will adhere to the guidelines set forth in the Circular Letter dated June 16, 2021, numbered 2021/8, regarding private health insurances for visa and residence permit applications.

For a policy to be terminated at the request of the insured, the following documents must be submitted to the insurance company within one month:

  • A new private health insurance contract that covers the period of the residence permit.
  • Documents pertaining to the cancellation or non-extension of the residence permit.
  • Proof of coverage under the General Health Insurance as per Law No. 5510 on Social Insurance and General Health Insurance.
  • Documents related to the rejection of the residence permit application or the withdrawal of the application before a decision is made.

Without these documents, the policy cannot be canceled.
